As a Kenya - trained lawyer who has practiced for 50 years in rural and urban Kenya, traversing all parts of Kenya, one regret | have lived with is the sad reality of citizens’ ignorance and knowledge of basic law and legalities touching on the day-to-day matters.

Many a citizen's rights have been eroded - sometimes exploited - by an individual not taking timely action or advice or being indolent unknowingly. My hope in writing this book is that the knowledge of the laws will help informed citizens of their rights, simply and clearly, so that the law becomes, in all its manifestations, a shield and defender of the citizen.
